Do you support a specific program or organization?

BPH is not prescriptive. Where people share common interests, we’ll explore ways to achieve greater impact. 


Do you make contributions or grants?

No. We do not respond to requests for support, funding inquiries, or event invitations. Black Philanthropy Houston does not provide financial support or grants.


What will BPH do?

  • Create space for Black donors and others who share our interests to connect and learn together
  • Educate on leadership and community needs and how to prioritize these needs as targets of philanthropy
  • Help direct resources to Houston’s Black communities, Black nonprofit leaders, and social entrepreneurs
  • Spark new thinking about ways to disrupt cycles that cause the same problems


Who is the target audience?

Black donors and others that want to:

  • Connect, learn, and partner with Black givers
  • Address issues affecting Houston’s Black communities and Black nonprofit leaders
  • Challenge orthodoxies and assumptions 
  • Expand their understanding about how social change happens
  • Make a bigger impact and improve outcomes


Is BPH a nonprofit organization?

No. BPH is an initiative of CauseAdvance, LLC, a social change advisory practice based in Houston, Texas.
